MaryAnn Sings: “Everybody’s Changing” by Keane

This year has been one of uncertainty and change on a global scale, and thus affects each of us personally.

Working from home, social distancing, wearing a mask everywhere we go, and having our freedom of worldwide suddenly reduced and restricted… all of these have had different implications for everyone, and to various extents have been difficult on all of us.

If anything, this worldwide pandemic has brought to light the truth that change is the only constant in our lives.

Whether we notice it or not, and whether we want it or not, everything is changing all the time. We may not feel it or see it as clearly in pre-Covid times, but if we were really to examine our lives and ourselves, we’ll discover that nothing has ever truly been certain.

Part of why we never noticed is because we’re more resilient and adaptable to change than we realise. And simultaneously, we’re also rather resistant to it. After all, life would be so much easier if everything and everyone was predictable and stayed the same, even ourselves.

If you’re feeling lost and disconnected, singing is a way to reconnect with yourself again.

Singing allows us to express in a tangible form what we’re really going through, and is a great outlet for turning our frustrations and confusion into something uplifting and forwarding for ourselves.

Amidst the chaos and uncertainty around you, the core of who you are remains steadfast and constant, and is a powerful compass to guide you as you navigate the seas of change.

When you discover why you’re resonating with certain songs, you’ll discover more about the core of who you are, and what is it about you that holds you through the uncertainties in your life.

If you’re needing that compass in your life right now, let’s chat and see if voice coaching and singing lessons are right for you.
